Familiar, yet different

When I watched the sunset, I thought of you.

How it was the last fading light,

and the darkness was just anew.

Familiar, yet different.

Probably like you, these past few moons.

And the next morning, when I awoke,

I thought back to that same inky sky,

only now in a different hue.

Us, years ago,

chasing light in every corner,

not yet knowing

we'd one day become it for each other.
