I don’t know why it hurts

My heart is constantly stumbling

Between I care, and I don’t care

I don’t know why it hurts

The lights flicker between red and green

And a haze takes over my brain

I don’t know why it hurts

But I feel the pulse of heat and suddenly

I’m back to that place of vulnerability

I don’t know why it hurts

And I hope that I can make it better soon
