My mom is the best

Here is a letter that I wrote to my mother:

Dear Mom,

You are the most generous human that I have ever known. From you, I learned not just to forgive, but to let go. Your eyes are so young and innocent. The wrinkles around them do not even make sense - because when I see you, I see someone who sees the best in people. Your eyes show that life hasn't beaten you down or made you cruel.

Your hair has been damaged from years of work, sun, and neglect. But, it still remains - like your spirit. Your hair is wild, some may say. But, I think it's real...not giving an explanation to anyone or anything.

Your hands have made countless delicacies. They have been darkened by your time in the sun. when you were a child, young and free. Your hands are warm and feel of love. Willing to give, even when no one will give to you.

The backbone, your spine has endured so much hardship - weathered by health problems and labor. Yet, it still tries to stand tall.

Your elbows steer you in the right direction - giving you a feeling more distinct than your gut. Your elbows have held you together and reminded you to create using what's underneath them.

Your legs have caused pain. But they are thick and strong, remembering when to stay planted and when to move on...

Your body and mind inspire me. To understand what I want and to demand what I need.
