Bends and Turns
Bending backward
I fall for your
Intelligent lines
Crestfallen eyes
But then I push, pull, tug, and scream
Against the weight of the thunder
Praying to God that I don’t fall under
The guise of pretending to have that love
And that life
I turn away from the light
That makes me flinch
Realizing that too bright is not always right.
But you wouldn’t know, would you?
All you see is black and white
it’s not even that I see in color
I see magnitude, shape, and discolor
rings, circles, tunnels with bridges falling under
I smile up at your upward eyes
And realize that you have finally stood tall and seen the light.
