Spellbound

your eyes hold my gaze

As you come closer and closer

I feel the weight of anticipation holding my chest down

My heart is beating a mile a minute

And my brain is buzzing for answers

Why are you here?

Why can’t I move when I know you’re dangerous?

Our minds are so stupid

Even when we are wrong, we refuse to see it

Sweat lines my palms

And I feel like I’m on a slippery slope

about to fall

The moment should scare me

But it doesn’t

In fact, I feel more alive than I ever did

How strange is it to be human?
