The Art of Confidence

Confidence is

Rain tapping loudly on a cozy night.

It’s feeling at peace with bursts of loneliness

That hit like popcorn

Piercing but never the same.

It’s a reminder that you are the right type of enough

Your place in the world

Makes someone life

a whole lot better

And that helps me stand up

a little bit taller

When all I want to do is crawl away

And be barely visible

Like faded glass

Or smoke in the mirror

Confidence has been hard

But it’s something learned

Never taught

Waking up to this thought

did make me quite distraught

but not going to lie

I feel pretty caught up.
